Improved synergistic uptake and less fixation by excess of phosphates and sulphates with Ultrasol® Magnum based fertigation program resulted in bigger blueberries with longer shelf life.
A comparison between the local program showing clear excess in phosphates and sulfates with a better balanced SQM program, facilitated especially the calcium uptake, which together with an improved potassium uptake resulted in clear effects on storability and shelf life. The improvements in shelf life were a clear target for the grower, allowing him to increase its share for the export market, while pressure on the national offer and demand occurred.
