Nitrate nitrogen is the most efficient source of nitrogen for plants and improves the absorption of cations (K+, Ca++ and Mg++).
It should not be mixed with sulfates and phosphates in highly concentrated or alkaline stock solutions, to avoid precipitation of insoluble salts.
